Fundraising/Advocating
To fulfill the advocating and fundraising aspects of its mission we put on a variety of events throughout the year.

These are examples of some of the fundraising projects/events we performed last year.

PENNY DRIVE!
Donate your spare change to Habitat, you can find collection containers in your dorm building and academic buildings… every penny counts and will help build homes for families in need.

Act! Speak! Build! Week
March 30th-April 5th 2009
Act! Speak! Build! Week is Habitat’s international, student-initiated week of advocacy. We will participate in this event this spring for the first time. This will be a week full of awareness and fundraising events and opportunities. Check back for updated information!

Dollar Dare
Everyone on Campus is dared to give a dollar to Habitat for Humanity because if everyone gave a dollar (just ONE dollar) we would raise over $3,000! Collection jars are placed all around campus for this week for individuals to donate to $1.00 or more.

Homeless Sleepout
This year we hosted our first ever Homeless Sleep Out as part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. This is a night where students spend a night homeless to raise awareness of homelessness in Bemidji, and for the need of affordable housing. Funds raised as a part of this night go directly to the building of simple, decent, affordable homes with Habitat for Humanity. We also collected food for the Food Shelf, clothes for the Salvation Army, and cash donations for Habitat!

Waffle Breakfasts
A few times a year we put on waffle breakfasts at area churches after their church service on Sunday mornings.
