We Need Your Help VOLUNTEER!

Make a donation of your new or gently used furniture and appliances to Northwoods Habitat for Humanity ReStore

ITS SIMPLE MISSION BENEFITS THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY: The Habitat ReStore recycles overstocked, used, discounted and salvageable building materials, appliances, and furniture donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are resold to the general public to finance Habitat for Humanity building projects in the Bemidji area.

Northwoods Habitat for Humanity describes the purpose, or mission, of the ReStore as one of support for the vision of Habitat for Humanity through the recycling of building materials. This is done in four main areas:

  1. Environmental- to be good stewards of valuable natural resources by recycling building materials that would otherwise go to the landfill. Since our ReStore opened, we have saved 2,039,390 pounds of material from ending up in the landfill
  2. Economic- reducing landfill disposal costs for builders, providing discounted building materials for home revitalization and donations are tax deductible.
  3. Social- aiding those with low income to improve their housing situation.
  4. Partnering- businesses benefit from partnering with the ReStore by reducing disposal fees, tax deductions, getting rid of unwanted items and clearing space to save on storage costs.
