Weekly Meetings

...To Be Determined...

Everyone is invited - attending meetings is the best way to get involved with Habitat for Humanity!

...Get Involved...

One of our goals this year is to get more students and campus student organizations involved with Habitat for Humanity. We hope to work in coordination with other service organizations to help eliminate the poverty issue in this community. Interested? Contact us!

Why Get Involved?

Habitat for Humanity provides you with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many individuals. Being a part of the BSU Campus Chapter you get to help construct homes, participate in fundraisers, volunteer to work at the ReStore (a second-hand building supply store), and raise the community's awareness on the need for affordable housing. We also help the Northwoods affiliate by volunteering at their fundraisers.

Volunteer Opportunities with BSU Habitat for Humanity -

Building:
To fulfill the Build aspect of its mission, our Campus Chapter works with the Northwoods Habitat Affiliate to build houses in the surrounding community. In the Fall and Spring (weather depending), we organize monthly Saturday builds which provide 10-15 students the opportunity to volunteer on the work site. A Saturday build day starts at 8:00AM and goes till 4:00PM.

ReStore:
O n a weekly basis members volunteer at the ReStore. There are a variety of activities we do here to help. We load and unload donations, help organize and clean products, work at the cashier, or help customers. This is one area that Habitat really needs support in. Members can sign up individually or with a few other people to go do a shift.

Working at Fundraising Events:
A variety of events take place throughout the year with BSU Habitat. Much time is put into the preparation and planning of these events. Also, participating in the events is important as these are the activities that raise the awareness about Habitat and the need for affordable housing.

You will gain hands on experience in event planning, fundraising, building, and much more!

Many different skills can benefit our Campus Chapter...
Construction Knowledge, Public Relations, Marketing, Creativity, Event Planning... You can really make a difference!
