Northwoods Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. That means that we depend on community support to accomplish our mission of building affordable housing. Each year, we conduct various fundraising activities and events, including our annual Roof Raiser event. However, we have limited time and budget for fundraising. That's why we love to see supporters conducting their own fundraising efforts to support us!
If you believe in our mission and want to give back, we are here to help. Below is a list of possible fundraising events or activities you could do yourself, or with a small group. We are happy to provide outreach materials, logos, business cards, etc. to help promote our cause. We can also consult with you to ensure the success of your fundraising efforts.
Birthday Gifts - For your next birthday, ask your friends and family to donate to Habitat in lieu of gifts. You can also start your own Facebook fundraiser in honor of your birthday and select Northwoods Habitat for Humanity as the beneficiary.
Garage Sale - organize a garage sale with family and friends and designate the proceeds for Northwoods Habitat for Humanity.
Independent Business Give Back - Are you a business owner? Consider donating a portion of sales for a given week or month. Your customers will really get behind your support for such a great cause.
School Fundraiser - Kids love to help! And, you can teach them about the importance of giving back. Organize your kid's school, youth group, scout troop, etc. to do a coin drive, read-a-thon, or other fun activity.
Bake Sale - Organize your friends or church group to bake some yummy goodies and sell them to raise funds for Habitat.
Car Wash - A great activity for a youth athletic team to build camaraderie and learn about the importance of giving back.
The possibilities are really endless. Do a Google search and you'll find even more ideas for fun and successful fundraising ideas to support nonprofits. Be creative! There are lots of ways to raise funds to support affordable housing.
